My textured paper collections are designed with the digital scrapbooker and art journalist as well as the digital photographer in mind.  They can be used as backgrounds OR textured overlays to place on top of your photo/scrap page to run blend modes on.  

These textured papers are originated in my art room using either acrylic or watercolor paint, Ranger distressed ink, India ink, etc. and/or items I have acquired and scanned into my computer.  They consist of a lot of layers eventually merged into jpg files so that you can turn your page into a unique page!

I just released a new set of textures in the store!  Place them over your photo in Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, Gimp, etc., change the blend modes and watch the magic happen!

Two new blog train freebies!

This time around, and from here on out, my blog train freebies will be posted directly in the store rather than here.   

For March 20, I am doing TWO blog trains!  

The first one is Aspergers Awareness for the Digi Blog Train List.  Included in this kit are two awareness ribbons, one brightly colored, the other a little more subdued, two frames, two butterflies, three papers and an overlay. 

The second one is again for O'Scrap Blog Train, Cute as a Bunny.  This kit contains a bokeh overlay (or you can use it as a background), a brush stroke butterfly and dragonfly, a dziner frame, scribble stroke and dziner button.

I am offering a free sample of a dziner Art-z Starter Page so that you can try out my style at no financial risk.  After placing the overlay on the dziner Art-z paper (that I made from paint up in my art room), play with your blend modes and colors.  You just might find yourself as addicted to blend modes and overlays as I have become!  

The first image is the layout I based this Free Sampler on.  I created the background by placing an overlay on top of the Art-z paper and changing the blend mode.  I didn't like the way the black looked, so, using the Layer > New Fill Layer, I experimented with different colors.  Then I still wasn't exactly satisfied, so I duplicated that same overlay, experimented with blend mode on that layer also, and continued to experiment with colors on that layer.  I finally came to the bluish tint around the edges that you see here.

Tips on How to Use dziner Art-z Starter Pages

dziner Art-z Starter Pages are so much fun! You can literally create layout after layout of unique designs using just one Art-Z Starter Page.  Change your background, recolor everything a different color for each layout, move things around, use different blend modes.  Your options are endless!

lsdzines of North and South Studios has just released a Chiari Malformation Awareness kit for digital scrapbookers/artists/art journalists.

FIFTY PERCENT of the proceeds for the Chiari Malformation Awareness digital scrapbooking products will be donated to the Chiari & Syringomyelia Foundation (csfinfo.org) for as long as all the products are offered for sale.

Information about Chiari and its related disorders including Syringomyelia and Ehler’s Danlos Syndrome, among many, many more, can be found at csfinfo.org. On the CSF website, a wealth of information can be found not only for patients and their families, but for physicians as well. Your donations are what help keep this education going.

The kit is sold as a big bundle for a discount and each portion is sold individually. Most of the individual portions are commercial use only. 

To anyone who knows me, they know how important research and education for Chiari Malformation is.  I am a zipperhead.  For those who don't know, it is the slang term given to those of us who have had brain surgery due to Chiari Malformation.  The stitching and staples up the back of our heads looks like a zipper.  

Chiari malformation is a serious neurological disorder.  The disorder itself is rough, and the brain surgery to treat it takes years of recovery, and we will never be the people we were before Chiari struck.  It's not a very well known disorder, therefore, the more awareness that can be raised, the better for those who currently know they have Chiari and for those about to learn they have Chiari.   

Here is the kit!  Each portion of the kit is also sold individually.  Because of the terms of use of my suppliers (pixelscrapper.com and tezza), the whole kit must be personal use only.  The brushes, word art, papers and stacked frames/quick pages are commercial use since they are 100% my own work.

dziner Art-z Page Starter 2 Set at Etsy!

dziner Art-z Page Starter 2 comes with a dziner frame in blues, greens, pinks and purples, a clipping mask and four overlays in a hexagonal and round shape and a heart element. I am hoping to get some tutorials around soon, but, I can't seem to find the video screen capture software that won't cost me a fortune.  If there are any suggestions, please share!
