Why Am I Doing This?

I love to take pictures.  Sometimes I see things differently than other people see them, or I see something that other people don't even see at all.  Taking a shot of what I see makes me feel like I am letting other people into the inner workings of my deranged and unique mind.  It's like that saying that the eyes are the windows to the soul - my camera lens is that window and is just the beginning of letting one view my soul.

The second half of the story is what I create afterward.  I am pretty new to digital scrapbooking (about a month now), but I am learning things by leaps and bounds, and soon I will be able to create the completely abstract art of what my mind sees, but am yet unable to put on paper due to my lack of knowledge of how to get it there.

I recently learned that I like to travel - but only with my husband.  However, I wish everyone could go on our trips with us. Sometimes, our travels only take us a few miles away, but I still wish everyone were there.  Since they can't be there with us, I figure I will document our travels with photos and be able to share those with family and friends who wish to see them.

I find myself taking pictures with others in mind often.  "Oooh, I want everyone to see this view I am looking at," or "Check out that sign?!  Someone might want to see that!"  Then I get my pictures home, upload them and think, "What the hell did I take a picture of THAT for?  Ain't no one wantin' to be carin' about that?!"  Needless to say, it's why I have a huge folder of tens of thousands of pictures on my hard drives that I have been going through and deleting.

So these are my stories.  I hope you feel like you are on our excursions with us!
